Fourth Year Medical Students:
1. Do you offer clerkships for fourth year medical students?
Yes. All visiting fourth year students wanting to rotate must go through the Registrar's Office. Please go to the Registrar's web page and scroll down to Elective Manual - Fourth Year Medical Students. Click on the Manual to download a pdf file version (see page 127). After your paper work has been submitted, the Registrar's Office will either send a form to us to accept your selected time slot, or deny your application. LSU students will be registered first during the months of July and August.
Residency Applicants:
1. Does your program require USMLE scores?
Yes.
2. What are the required minimum USMLE scores?
To be considered for an interview, one must have a minimum score of 200.
3. Does your program accept Foreign Medical Graduates?
Yes.
4. Are Foreign Medical Graduates required to have clinical experience in the U.S.?
No.
5. What kind of visa do you sponsor for Foreign Medical Graduates?
LSUHSC accepts applicants on J-1 Visas. An H 1-B Visa may be requested, but it is not necessarily available each year. For more information, contact Legal Affairs: 318-675-5406, to go to the Legal Affairs website.
6. The interview days will be December 18, 2009 and January 8, 2010.
7. Is there a Medical School graduation date limitation?
No.
